Hello!

Welcome to Wine Not Wine Country! We're here to guide you towards exceptional experiences in Napa and Sonoma. Cheers!

Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards

Truth be told, I’ve been intending to write this blog post for quite a few days but when it comes down to it, the amount of content I have to include keeps building up because I cannot stay away from this gloria-ous (heh) dreamland. Gloria Ferrer makes you feel like you’ve stepped out of your normal life and into the life of someone who just sits and sips bubbles all day (I’m into that). Each time I’ve visited, I’ve intended to stop in for a quick tasting but have ended up enjoying the staff’s company, the breathtaking views, delicious snacks and satisfying wines for far more hours than expected.

I was first drawn to Gloria Ferrer Winery & Caves because of a time old marketing tactic - the billboard. We had one winery in mind that specialized in still wines but once I saw the sign, I thought to myself… why not bubbles? So off we went.

We immediately were seated on a gorgeous patio with sweeping views of the vineyards and I actually could not believe that this gorgeous place was less than an hour from the city. I felt like I was on vacation. We were greeted by our amazing server, Adrian, who was incredibly sweet. Immediately, between him & the angel who appeared out of nowhere with arguably the best olive oil I’ve ever had - Cecilia - I felt like this was no longer a place I just came to for the first time, but rather my local spot where everybody knew my name. For a place so divine, it still holds an incredibly warm, welcoming and casual feel.

The drive to the winery is lined with their vineyards and olive trees from Tuscany so once you make it to the point where you get to taste both the wine and the olive oil, it’s pretty incredible to realize it was all created on this property. We learned about that, saw part of the harvest process happen in a cave, were surprised to learn that there are about 44 million bubbles in each bottle of champagne during our tour & much more. It was led by Cecilia & I would highly recommend requesting her if you get the chance to take the tour. We enjoyed the Blanc de Noirs, Sonoma Brut, Royal Cuvée and Pinot Noir - all of which were absolute delights. As Gloria herself says, “You look beautiful with a flute in your hand.” Cheers!
