Hawkes' downtown Sonoma tasting room is a great spot just outside of the hustle and bustle of the square. Located just a half a block away, it's much more peaceful. The indoor decor is midcentury modern and eclectic (with seriously comfortable chairs). Their outdoor garden is lovely too - with big tables, lavender and olive trees.
If you're a fan of Cabernet, you don’t want to skip Hawkes - the winery features a few Cabernets, as well as a Chardonnay and Merlot. Hawkes serves several single vineyard Cabs back to back and allows you to truly taste the difference while learning about the land and climates each comes from!

Hot tips: Reservations required. Their website says groups up to 6 are allowed, but we've seen larger groups so give them a call to inquire about larger groups. They serve a little bread and olive oil with tastings.
