Hello!

Welcome to Wine Not Wine Country! We're here to guide you towards exceptional experiences in Napa and Sonoma. Cheers!

Matanzas Creek Winery

Matanzas Creek Winery

Have you heard of the lavender paradise that is Matanzas Creek Winery? Their scenery is truly special in Wine Country. Rows and rows of large lavender bushes adorn their gardens, with small paths and scattered seating.

While their tasting room (and lavender market, selling a bunch of lavender goods!) is bustling, the gardens at Matanzas Creek are peaceful and beautiful. We would highly recommend grabbing a bottle of wine (you can’t go wrong with their Sauvignon Blanc!) from the tasting room and taking it out to the gardens. There are a few seating areas, so feel free to wander around to find the perfect place to enjoy the sights, smells and relax. They also have a bocce ball court and allow picnicking, so you can easily spend a whole afternoon enjoying their grounds.

The lavender is obviously the big draw as far as the setting goes (although they have a lovely patio outside the main tasting room as well!). Peak lavender season is in June, but visiting at the end of the summer after they harvest their lavender is also a beautiful option (scroll through to the end of the picture gallery to see!).
