Orin Swift Cellars
Orin Swift is - in a word - artistic. When you walk in, you immediately feel that vibe. The tasting room is long and narrow, with an original stone wall from the 1800s behind the bar and a mosiac of wood strips opposite the bar. There is minimal distraction here, with the focus being their wines.
The artistic flair of Orin Swift thrives in its subtly. Many of the art pieces framed in their space are also used on wine bottle labels and each has a story - some even using imagery from famous artists like Francisco Goya in the past. Their name has a history from founder and winemaker Dave Phinney; Orin is his father's middle name and Swift is his mother's maiden name.
What we liked most about this space was that it’s simply different. It has great wine and unique style. It's also nestled into downtown St. Helena where you could easily spend a day walking around to shop, sip and eat. This isn't a space where you'll spend the whole day, but it is certainly memorable and a great stop to make.
